that's what the sunset looked like last night...if minty-turquoise replaced magenta.

so I made another wallpaper.. this one has 2 slightly different patterns....
the "sun roll" which has a sun or the "sun lines roll" which is just the sun lines.
This would be nice on a sun porch or in a pool house changing room...

Last week, I had lunch at the AT&T center.
Their cafe is yummy and the courtyard is so nice....
I recommend lunch there if you are downtown LA.
They have a massive zen fountain in the center with tall, tall bamboo...
and these, Bertoia Side Chair's.

after literally taping my braid "shut" on a hike Sunday,
I decided to stop being hair lazy and try my hand at some of these braid trends that are floating the web waves.
I've seen my share of fishtail tutorials but Cupcakes and Cashmere by far makes the most sense.
I think I need to use smaller sections next time..
As to the twist braid.. I first tried this one thanks to this Refinery29 post
and I have to say, it's easy peasy!

I was inspired and decided to whip up this wallpaper
I imagine this would be nice with a subtle pink velveteen in the center that faded off...in a wash room or breakfast nook.

My Grandma always has the most wonderful wallpapers in her home.
One of my favorites was the wallpaper along the staircase in her Owosso, MI home.
I don't remember the exact pattern but it had some black velveteen that was so very soft and textural.

This is another wallpaper I designed a bit back.

I rode a horse again (finally!)

I smashed my nail in my bathroom window (mega ouch)

I'm behind on life! jeepers!
Here is Easter dinner...albeit a bit late.
We went for a lot of walks and saw so many gorgeous flowers.

Then we made entirely too much food for 2 people.
The Easter bunny jello mold was a fail
but the roasted chicken and Brussels sprout/ zucchini dish was deeelish.

I set the tabel super simple but my Target table cloth made it natucial-tastic.
And I made a gorg centerpiece from existing bouquets
that needed sprucing up.

an overall supremely awesome Saturday.

- I bought this silk dress in a beautiful wintergreen color
to wear to a wedding today.
I'm going to belt it so it's a bit slouchy and wear lemon colored mules. yum.

- He gave me a "Dr.Seuss" bouquet from the Farmers Market
- Went thrifting for an hour down the block
- Had a sunset picnic in the park overlooking the Pacific

- Baked 4 pies for the Palm Sunday Bake Sale (the pies sold out in 15 minutes!)
- Super awesome mani pedi massage combo

Sounds like a lot but it was uber relaxing.
Now I am off to get fansaaayyy for the Sunday wedding!

This weekend it was back to the basics.
Spring cleaning (never get as much done as I hope to);
made a pecan chocolate pie and a cherry pie!
I highly recommend both of those recipes!

and we have a new lady living in our eaves.

Her and her mister are House Finches that came to our place last year as well.

- Because ballet flats only perpetuate the girlishness, so some masculine flare can give you just that.

- apparently this shield penny is not so new... news to me. I think they look fake!

- Pennies for your loafers are a good thing, or do you prefer dimes?

Reupholstering an old favorite

- This lovely chair has been in my kitchen for 7 years.

It had a ratty white vinyl seat. I ripped it off and staple-gunned some sunbrella (stain/water/UV proof) fabric to it, et voila!

I'm actually not sure that I love it...'tis a bit loud, but I do like the change.

and yes, that is my 27 year old husbands "Red Ryder" BB gun that sits on our porch...

how this all ties together I am not really sure.

Found some treasures this weekend!
Finally went into the Nautical Shop on Balboa Peninsula and found this supersweet Port lamp...
there were so many other good things there! Just look at all that fun stuff behind me and my frown!

Also, I snapped up this hat at Kate Spade! I went in to "look" at the "hello sunshine" hat, all the while knowing full well that I already have a bit floppy sun hat
...
but when I saw this red version of the sunnies hat (I've only seen the black!)
I just had to have it on my head!

I'm going to a bachelorette party / vacation get-away this weekend... so the hat was a must ;)
Can't tell you where we are going because it's a surprise for the Bride but I'll letcha know Friday night!

We've been with out internet for 7 days and didn't have electricity for 2 whole days!!! Hence I'm blogging from the phone...ugly.....but our power poles/ telephone poles were knocked on the ground last Friday!!! Flat out on the ground which pulled 3 others down!
And I've missed y'all so much, So i thought I'd share a few things that have happened in the past week....

I accepted a new position at flirtcatalog.com as their graphic designer! Fun fun!
